Take Action: Save Net Metering!
DOUG FORD'S SOLAR GRANT HAS A HUGE CATCH!
Doug Ford announced a $10,000 grant for solar panels and batteries, promising to make life more affordable for Ontarian's. But there’s a big problem, net metering is NOT included.
What does this mean?
Without net metering, homeowners can’t send excess solar energy back to the grid to reduce their bills. This makes solar a far worse deal for everyday people. And guess who’s running the program? Enbridge – a natural gas company.
Why would a gas company control a solar program?
Simple: profits.
They want to keep you dependent on fossil fuels instead of letting you generate your own clean energy.
We need to take action! Tell the Ontario Energy Board to include net metering and make solar work for the people, not big gas companies.

Subject: Urgent Concern – Exclusion of Net Metering in the New Solar Grant
To the Ontario Energy Board,
As a homeowner in Ontario, I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the exclusion of net metering in the recently announced $10,000 solar and battery grant administered by Enbridge. This decision directly undermines the affordability and accessibility of solar energy for Ontarians and contradicts your responsibility to ensure we receive fair and cost-effective energy solutions.
Net metering is a proven and essential tool that allows homeowners to send excess solar energy back to the grid, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while lowering electricity costs for everyone. Without net metering, the financial benefit of installing solar is drastically reduced, making it harder for homeowners like me to justify the investment.
The Ontario Energy Board exists to protect ratepayers and ensure we get the best possible energy rates. Allowing a natural gas company like Enbridge to oversee a solar program while removing net metering flies in the face of this mission. It raises serious concerns about whether this program is designed to benefit Ontarian's or protect Enbridge’s profits.
I urge you to correct this oversight immediately and require that net metering be included in any solar incentive program. Ontario homeowners deserve energy policies that prioritize fairness, affordability, and a clean energy future.
I look forward to your response on this critical issue.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
