Guelph Solar is putting the sun to work at the Woodingford Lodge long term care centre in the city of Woodstock, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada.

Transcript:

Hi, my name is Lucas, and I work with Guelph Solar. Today, we're in Woodstock, installing solar panels on top of the Wooden Ford Lodge long-term care center. We're very pleased to be part of this project with Oxford County here in Woodstock.

This retirement home project is one of the largest we’ve been involved in. It’s a 313-kilowatt net metering project that features 736 Q Cell panels, each producing 425 watts. What makes this project unique is the layout of the building. The retirement home has four courtyards, resulting in various roof faces that receive solar power throughout the day. Early in the morning and later in the day, these different roof faces ensure a steady flow of solar energy to the building, allowing it to produce more power than it needs at certain times.

This system will generate over 300,000 kilowatt-hours of free, green energy each year. The technology we’re using here is state-of-the-art, with inverters that report power production to the internet every five minutes. If there’s ever a problem, we receive a notification immediately, ensuring continuous monitoring and maintenance.

This project also comes with phenomenal 25-year warranties, providing long-term reliability and peace of mind.

It’s a great pleasure to work with young people who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Engineers, installers, and electricians come to Guelph Solar wanting to be part of a future powered by clean energy. They seek careers that allow them to contribute to a sustainable future that they believe in.

One of the things that makes us most proud to be part of this project is knowing that we are contributing to an economy that powers our country, province, and families in a sustainable way. This is what Guelph Solar is all about.

I'm Steve Dick, President of Guelph Solar, and I’m so glad to be part of this project, helping to power homes and businesses with the energy of the sun.
